EZNote Description

Have you ever needed to quickly jot down a note and easily find it later? While Web browsing, have you ever wanted to copy text selections for later reading, without copying and pasting between applications or saving the text to a file? EZNote accomplishes these tasks and more at the touch of a key or a click of a mouse--without having to leave the application you are in!

Another key press brings EZNote to the front with a listing of all your notes, which you can edit, delete, search, replace, print, and move from category to category (create as many categories as you like) with ease! EZNote lets you do all standard text editing including changing fonts, styles, sizes, etc. Another extremely handy feature allows you to select text from any note and have EZNote automatically paste the text directly into any document in any running application. EZNote comes with many PlugIns which allow you to modify selected text in any application. Strip Line Feeds from your email, get rid of all email reply >> > characters with one PlugIn call, and many more useful PlugIns!

A note to users of previous versions of EZNote: EZNote is now an application, no longer a control panel. As requested, you can now have multiple windows open, each note can be greater than 32k, pictures can be mixed with text, fully supports drag & drop and so much more!

Some uses for EZNote

• Copy selected text from any application with one key stroke and store it for later reading or editing.
• Use the EZNote floating window from within any application to copy text from/to that application or select a PlugIn to perform editing functions on selected text without having to go back to EZNote!
• Keep an on-line journal of daily activities.

• Keep commonly used text clippings handy to paste into any application.
• With a mouse click, grab a note from any category without leaving the application you are in.
• Maintain a simple, easily accessed address book and phone number list.
• Collect and organize the information from those scattered text documents and clipping files.

• Added Get Note Floating Window which allows you to select text from any note in any Category without leaving the application you are in

• Always start the "focus" on the list of every window opened
• Added the ability to edit selected text and to select a destination category after hitting a hotkey, which will work even if no windows are open in the EZNote application
• When using the Bring EZNote Forward hotkeys, you can go right back to the application you called EZNote from by hitting the same hotkey
• Bug fixes:
• Fixed a problem with fonts added by "Font Reserve" not showing up in the Font menu
• Fixed a bug that sometimes prevented a full search of all categories

New features and bug fixes in 1.51

• Added Start Category to Prefs (so you can now either have EZNote remember the last category you accessed when you last shut down, or always have the starting category set to anything you like)
• Brought back the Command-clicking shortcut while in Get/Edit Notes when clicking on the Category popup menu.
• Fixed a problem that would happen with some people while using URL Manager. Mouse clicks in an EZNote window would do nothing, this has been fixed!
• Change max file name length to 31 characters from 25
• fixed a problem that wouldn't let you edit notes if the first note you selected to edit was a clipping.

• Added Styles! These allow you to set up Styles that let you change the font, style, sieze and/or color of selected text with one menu option instead of several!

Bug fixes in 1.42

• Bug fix (a problem running with Spell Catcher(tm) 8 and any system before 8.5 would cause the menus to be drawn blank in certain applications).
• Also sped up text entry!

Bug fix in 1.41

• Hitting the Return or Enter key to quit EZNote on some computers would cause a crash, this has been fixed

• Added searchable comments for each note (which are linked with the Finder comments)
• can now choose between saving notes as clipping files or standard text files
• window is moveable and resizable (and the location & size is now remembered after restarting) and so is the list with the EZNote popup menu available in any application
