A new version of ScrapIt Pro X (v1.3) is in the works. New features include:

• QuickScrap Hotkeys (hit a hotkey while in any other app to send selection to a scrap file)
• Universal Binary (native code for both PowerPC and Intel Macs)

Just some news about what's been happening lately. We are in the process of updating EZNote X (v1.01) and should have a new version released within 3 weeks:

EZNote X new features/bug fixes include:

• PlugIn problem with Tiger where only 1 would show up in the list is fixed
• Searching bug fixes
• List font and size now user changeable

ScrapIt Pro X new features/bug fixes include:

• Misc. bug fixes
• Now shares PlugIns with EZNote (in a separate folder)

EZNote X news (as of 3/7/2005):

The current plan is to release EZNote X v1.0 on 3/11/2005. Here is a screen shot. Thank you for all your suggestions, encouragement and patience! :)


ScrapIt Pro X v1.2 progress (2/12/2004):

We are working on new features for ScrapIt Pro X v1.2! Hope to have the new version released within 2 weeks.

New features include:

• Complete rewrite of Search routines, now works extremely fast and does not open each item as it's searching!
• Now remembers Find dialog settings
• Can now drag folders between scrap files
• Will now properly remember which files you had open when you quit
• Many other bug fixes

ScrapIt Pro X bug reports:

Running under 10.3 (Panther ): There have been reports of a couple of bugs in ScrapIt Pro X v1.1. They are:

• Exporting items can cause ScrapIt Pro X to crash
• Typing the Tab key while editing an item name can also cause a crash

We are working on fixes and will release v1.11 VERY soon.

Working on ScrapIt Pro X v1.1, nearly complete. Should be released within a week. Here is a list of some of the new features and bug fixes:

• Direct automatic importing of Classic ScrapIt Pro and Apple Scrapbook files!
• No longer dependent on item name to identify type of item (in v1.0 if you removed the extension from certian types of items, ScrapIt Pro X would not know how to display them)!
• Much better drag and drop support between other applications, many more types supported
• Command-Delete now works for Delete menu item!
• Many more settings available per document

ScrapIt X has been renamed ScrapIt Pro X and is in final beta testing! We plan to release ScrapIt Pro X v1.0 on 5/3/2003! Here are a few of the things it will do for you:

• Store, sort and view images (TIFF, jpeg, Gif, PICT, png, and more)
• Store, sort and view PDF files
• Store, sort and view Finder clipping files (images and text)
• Store anything you can copy to the clipboard for later retrieval
• Store and play sounds and movies
• Import, edit, create, print any text file (plain text, rich text (rtf & rtfd), html, etc.)
• Convert between text formats (plain text, rich text, html)
• Import ANY file by drag & drop, selecting multiple files with an open sheet or pasting
• Folders in a scrap file can be nested for the ultimate in organization
• Search by text, name or comments
• Export any scrap items easily
• Play slide shows with selected images
• And so much more!

Things are coming along very nicely with ScrapIt X! :-) If you'd like to take a look at a screen shot of the current version of ScrapIt X, click here . I do not currently have any of the graphics done for the icons in the toolbar, so please bear with me. I'm hoping to have version 1.0 released within 2 months.

Just a note to let you all know what is happening with OSX updates.

After having worked on carbonizing ScrapIt Pro and EZNote for several months (as I could, discovering how tedious carbonizing can be!) as well as learning to program natively for Cocoa (using Apple's development environment, Project Builder and Interface Builder), I have decided to scrap doing the carbonizing (pun intended! ;-) and go direct to creating entirely native OSX application versions of ScrapIt Pro and EZNote.

ScrapIt Pro:
The first native version will be lacking some of the features the current version has, such as Quickdraw 3d and forms.

EZNote:
The release of EZNote will follow soon after ScrapIt Pro is released.

Other programs :
I plan to continue to support and update the classic versions of all my utilities as well as create new and continue to create OSX versions of several of my other utilities.

I still do not have a release date yet, but will post new information as it becomes available.
